This research area focuses on the development and application of advanced artificial intelligence systems, including machine learning, natural language processing, and explainable AI. Emphasis is placed on designing ethical, transparent, and trustworthy AI solutions with real-world impact in domains such as healthcare, education, cultural heritage, and industry. Research efforts also include the creation of intelligent and adaptive systems capable of addressing complex social and technological challenges.
Extended Reality (xR)
The xR area explores immersive technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) to enhance human-computer interaction. Projects include the development of xR-based educational tools, training simulations (e.g., for emergency response and surgery), and collaborative virtual environments. The integration of AI with xR is a strategic priority, aiming to improve user engagement, knowledge transfer, and experiential learning.
Quantum Intelligence
This area investigates the intersection of quantum computing and artificial intelligence, focusing on quantum algorithms, quantum-enhanced learning models, and the simulation of complex systems. Research aims to explore how quantum technologies can solve computationally intractable problems and revolutionize fields such as optimization, cryptography, and high-dimensional data processing.
Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity research addresses the protection of digital systems and data from threats and vulnerabilities. Key topics include secure architectures, threat detection, cryptographic methods, privacy-preserving technologies, and cyber risk analysis. The goal is to develop robust, resilient, and ethically grounded solutions that ensure data integrity and system security across public and private sectors.
Digital Transformation of Enterprises
This area examines how digital technologies reshape organizational models, production systems, and value chains. Research includes the study of Industry 4.0 solutions, process automation, smart systems, digital platforms, and data-driven decision-making. The focus is on co-designing innovative ICT solutions with enterprises to drive competitiveness, sustainability, and strategic innovation in various industrial and service sectors.
